It’s actually quite the opposite. You see my problem is that I love bacon. It’s one of the most delicious foods that I know of. You can wrap nearly anything in bacon and improve the taste tenfold. The problem with this delicious food is that it has basically no nutritional value. I knew that to be successful I would have to cut bacon out of my life. If I could quit eating bacon, I could quit eating anything.
That’s a great question. I’ve talked on this website before about finding the trigger. We all have to find that one thing or things that make us want to succeed. Ultimately my trigger was my family. I’ll use this excerpt from my blog to explain the rest.
Then one morning, something “triggered” in my brain. I want to grow old with my wife. I want my boys to have wrestling matches with their dad. I want to be healthy for my family. Like a flash, all of the other experiences leading up to that morning played back in my head. I am so successful in other areas of my life, why am I so lazy in this one? I told myself then that I would change. That same week I met with Skyler about something totally unrelated to fitness and health and that’s when I had the idea. I met him for lunch and the next day I called him and told him I wanted to change. My trigger was pulled and I was on my way. I haven’t looked back, but I remember these experiences every day. They drive me and keep me motivated.
Yes I am. I’ve been working with a personal trainer at IdealShape and he has given me a very specific diet and exercise plan to follow. You can read all about it on my program page.
This one has always been a struggle for me. Plastic is just so convenient but every time I’m asked the question it seems like the bagger at the grocery store really wishes I would choose paper. They have that intonation in their voice that basically says “Are you going to choose plastic again environment killer?” That being the case, I generally still go with plastic. Maybe I’ll make the move to canvas.
